CityU (City University of Hong Kong) Veterinary Medicine’s Hong Kong Biodiversity & Ecology course asked for a continuation of local wildlife icons for their field camp. In 2019, the conversation around management of the city’s wild boars grew louder as more and more conflicts at urban edges were being featured in the media. Inspired by old Chinese medicinal salve packaging and traditional seal designs, this year’s logo for the field camp elevated a “nuisance” species to highlight the interaction between veterinary medicine and ecological management.
